After what feels like a mildly tense past couple of days - my Mickey Memories plush for January finally arrived this afternoon, and I'm so relieved it came safely. There seemed to be a bit of a delay in me receiving my order, and the tracking number suggested that the parcel could not be collected - leading me to believe it was lost forever! However, after a delivery to the wrong depot, Hermes finally picked up my order and delivered it safely to me today. With the plush now sold out online, and sold out in most stores - I was worried I was going to miss out on the only soft toy from the Mickey Memories series that I'm after. Alas, that is not the case, and he is now safely nestled in my collection ☺

And boy was he worth the wait! Although I'm usually a bit of a 'completionist' - I've told myself I don't need all of the plushes from this collection just for the sake of it - I'm not a plush collector, and I certainly do not have space to display 12 of them. Although I only purchased the plush this time around, when I get paid I am going to purchase the mug for Jan if it's still available, and from then on order the mugs every month (firstly because I'm a sucker for mugs, and secondly because they all stack together - so obviously I need them all!).

If you're unsure of what I'm talking about; the Mickey Memories series is a new plush, mug, and pin set that will be released on the 18th of every month in 2018 to commemorate Mickey through the years. Although the plush is now sold out online, the pins and mug for the month are still available.

Anyway, back to the star of the show. I knew as soon as I saw the first images of this plush that I had to have him. I love anything commemorative - it makes it even more collectible in my eyes - especially when it involves Steamboat Willie. The first plush up in the collection is in honour of the original black & white Mouse - and is made entirely of a kind of 'pleather', making him stand out from the regular soft toys. Yes he retailed at £25, which is slightly more towards the pricey end for a plush of his size, but he definitely feels more exclusive. One of his feet has a Mickey Memories stamp stitched into it - reminiscent of the beloved Disney Store stamps that are now a thing of the past. His other foot has one of Walt Disney's many beautiful quotes stitched into it...

I think probably my favourite feature of this plush, is the tiny little Steamboat Willies that are stitched all over it - it is such a gorgeous detail - and really makes it feel so special. It also comes with a paper tag labelling it as the first in the series of twelve, with some information about the collection written inside.

Everything about this plush is just beautiful - it is so well thought out, and so well made - if the whole collection going forward lives up to this standard then it's going to be difficult to resist them. I shall stay strong though. I'm so hoping that the mug (and potentially the pin set!) are still available at the end of the month - I love January's release so much that I think I would quite like the whole set. I shall leave it there in terms of my thoughts - although I could go on all day about how much I love this item. It's the most excited I've been for a long while about a Disney Store limited release, and I'm definitely excited to see the future collections in more detail.
